October 27-31 (Spirit Week)

This week, all classes will enjoy participating in Halloween music related activities. Here’s Pre-K (Sharpless) and Second Grade classes getting this week-long music party started.

October 13-17

Pre-preppers will listen to Cradle Song by Brahms. We will also learn and sing “Ring Around the Rosie” with movements and learn the rhyme, “Baa Baa Black Sheep.”

Preppers will listen to Cradle Song by Brahms and learn “Little Sally Walker” with movements.

Pre-K students will learn “Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater” with an activity. We will also continue to learn “December ‘Round the World.”

Kindergarten through fifth grade students will work on pronunciations in “December ‘Round the World.” We will also begin to learn melody and lyrics for “La Piñata.” Theory: Syncopation and two-part harmony

October 6-10

Pre-preppers will listen to, “What Falls in the Fall” and learn “Where is Thumbkin?” We will also read Goldilocks and the Three Bears to work on high vs. low.

Preppers will sing “Mulberry Bush,” with movements and play a game called, Don’t Move Like Me. We will also listen to “What Falls in the Fall.”

Pre-K students will listen to the winter musical songs. We will begin to work on learning the first song, “December ‘Round the World.”

Kindergarten through Fifth grade students will listen to the winter musical songs and begin learning the first song, “December ‘Round the World.” We will use this first song to work on two-part harmony.
